The project consists of three subdivisions developed into medium-density residential areas.
DAR AL OMRAN’s approach to these residential areas was to create interrelated ‘Neighbourhoods’. The ‘Neighbourhood’ is a basic planning entity in modern residential planning theories, and open spaces are a vital constituent of the neighbourhood’s physical structure. For this, DAR AL OMRAN connected the Neighbourhoods to each other through an open green spine that branches into open green spaces within these Neighbourhoods.
The open spaces have an important role to play in the design of these residential areas, as they are the arena of both, neighbours’ outdoor interactions -consequently building the neighbourhood’s sense of community- and the micro ecological sphere – setting its parameters and configuring its fundamentals.
